MY GUY

(C)Nothing you can (Am)say can (Cmaj7)tear me (Am)away
from (C)my guy.
(C)Nothing you could (Am)do 'cause I'm (Cmaj7)stuck
like (Am)glue to (C)my guy.
I'm (Dm)sticking to my (G7)guy like a (Dm)stamp
to a (G7)letter,
Like(Dm) birds of a (G7)feather we, (Dm)stick together.
I'm (C)telling you from the (Cmaj7)start,
I (Dm)can't be torn (G7)apart from my (C)guy.

(C)Nothing you could (Am)do could (Cmaj7)make un(Am)true to my (C)guy.
(C)Nothing you could (Am)buy would (Cmaj7)make me tell a (Am)lie to my (C)guy.
I (Dm)gave (G7)my guy my (Dm)word of (G7)honour,
(Dm)To be (G7)faithful, (Dm)and I'm gonna,
You (C)best be be(Cmaj7)lieving I (Dm)won't be de(G7)ceiving (C)my guy.

As a (Dm)matter of o(G7)pinion I(Dm) think he's (G7)tops,
(Dm)My opinion (G7)is he's (C)cream of the crop.
As a (Am)matter of taste, to be exact,
He's(d7) my ideal as a (G7)matter of fact.
No (C)muscle bound (Am)man could (Cmaj7)take my (Am)hand from (C)my guy
No (C)handsome (Am)face could ever (Cmaj7)take the (Am)place of (C)my guy.

He (Dm)may not (G7)be a (Dm)movie (G7)star
But when it (Dm)comes to being (G7)happy, (Dm)we are.
There's not a (C)man to(Am)day who can (Dm)take me a(G7)way from (C)my guy.
There's not a (C)man to(Am)day who can (Dm)take me a(G7)way from (C)my guy.
There's not a (C)man to(Am)day who can (Dm)take me a(G7)way from (C)my guy.

YOUR CHEATIN' HEART

(C)Your cheating' heart, will make you (F)weep.
You'll cry and (G7)cry and try to (C)sleep.
But sleep won't (C)come the whole night (F)through.
Your cheating'(G7) heart will tell on (C)you.(C7)

When tears come (F)down like fallin' (C)rain,
You'll toss (D7)around and call my (G7)name.
You'll walk the (C)floor the way I (F)do,
Your cheatin' (G7)heart will tell on (C)you.

Your cheatin' (C)heart will pine some (F)day
And crave the (G7)love you through a(C)way.
The time will (C)come when you'll be (F)blue
Your cheatin' (G7)heart will tell on (C)you.(C7)

When tears come (F)down like fallin' (C)rain,
You'll toss (D7)around and call my (G7)name.

BACK HOME AGAIN

(C)There's a storm across the (C7)valley,
(F)clouds are rollin' (Dm)in,
The (G7)afternoon is heavy on your (C)shoulders.(G7)
There's a (C)truck out on the (C7)four lane
a (F)mile or more a(Dm)way,
The (G7)whinin' of his wheels just makes it (C)colder.(G7)

(C)He's an hour a way from (C7)ridin'
On your (F)prayers up in the (Dm)sky,
And (G7)ten days on the road are barely (C)gone.(G7)
There's a(C) fire softly (C7)burnin',
(F)Supper's on the (Dm)stove,
But it's the(G7) light in your eyes that makes him (C)warm(C7)

Chorus:
(F)Hey it's good to (G7)be back home a(C)gain
(F)Sometimes (G7)this old farm(C) feels like a long lost (F)friend.

(F)how'd you spend your (Dm)time.
(G7)What's the latest things the neighbours (C)say.(G7)

(F)sunshine made her (Dm)cry.
And you(Dm) felt the baby move just yester(C)day.(C7)

Chorus.

It's the (C)sweetest thing I (C7)know of,
Just (F)spending time with (Dm)you.
It's the (G7)little things that make a house a(C) home.(G7)
Like the (C)fire softly (C7)burning
(F)Supper on the(Dm) stove.
The (G7)light in your eyes that makes me (C)warm(C7)

Chorus twice.

anything you'd want me to
(D7)All I want is (G7)loving you and mu(C)sic, music, music.

Bridge:
(F)Closer, (G7)my dear come clo(C)ser
The nicest (G7)part of any melody
Is (C)when you're dan(A7)cing close (Fm)to me.(G7)

(C)So put another nickel
in the nickelodeon
(D7)All I want is (G7)loving you and music, music, music.

For (C)I never thought that (G7)I’d ever lose your (F)love dear
(G7)Why’d you do me this (C)way.

When (C)everything’s wrong and (G7)nothin’ ain’t right with(F)out you
(G7)You got me singing the (C)blues.
CHORUS:
The (F)moon and sun no (C)longer shine

THIS OLE HOUSE.

[C]This ole house once knew my children, this ole [F]house once knew my wife
This ole house [G]was home and comfort, as we [C]fought the storms of life
This ole [C]house once rang with laughter, this ole [F]house heard many shout
Now she [G]trembles in the darkness, when the lightning walks a[C]bout

Ain't gonna [F]needthis house no longer  Won't [C]need this house no more
Ain't got [G]time to to fix the shingles  Ain't got [F]time to fix the [C]floor
Ain't got [F]time to oil the hinges  Or to [C]mend the window pane
Ain't gonna [G]need this house no longer
She's a getting ready to meet the [C]saints

This ole [C]house is getting shaky, this ole [F]house is getting old
This ole [G]house lets in the rain, this ole [C]house let's in the cold
Oh my [C]knee's are getting shaky, but i [F]feel no fear or pain
‘Cause l [G]see an angel peeking through a broken window [C]pane

Ain't gonna [F]needthis house no longer  Won't [C]need this house no more
Ain't got [G]time to to fix the shingles  Ain't got [F]time to fix the [C]floor
Ain't got [F]time to oil the hinges  Or to [C]mend the window pane
Ain't gonna [G]need this house no longer
She's a getting ready to meet the [C]saints

This ole [C]house is afraid of thunder, this ole [F]house is afraid of storms
This ole [G]house just groans and trembles, when the [C]night wind flings it’s arms
This ole [C]house is getting feeble, this ole [F]house is needing paint.
Ain't gonna [G]need this house no longer, I'm a getting ready to meet the [C]saints

Ain't gonna [F]needthis house no longer  Won't [C]need this house no more

PEARLY SHELLS / LOVE LETTERS IN THE SAND

Pearly Shells & Love Letters in the Sand

[C]Pearly Shells …. from the ocean
Shining in the [F]sun covering the [G7]shore
When I [C]see them my heart [F]tells me that I love you
More than [C]all the [G7]little pearly [C]shells

For every [G7]grain of sand upon the beach
I've [C]got a kiss for you
And I've got [G7]more left over
For each star that [D7]twinkles in the [G7]blue

[C]Pearly Shells …. from the ocean
Shining in the [F]sun covering the [G7]shore
When I [C]see them my heart [F]tells me that I love you
More than [C]all the [G7]little pearly [C]shells

On a [C]day like today we [F]pass the time a[D7]way
Writing [G7]love letters [F]in [G7]the [C]sand
How you laughed when I cried
Each [F]time I saw the [D7]tide
Take our [G7]love letters [D7]from [G7]the [C]sand [C7]

You made a [E7]vow that you would [Am]always be true
But some[D7]how that vow meant [F]nothing to [G7]you
Now my [C]poor heart just aches
With [F]every wave that [D7]breaks
Over [G7]love letters [D7]in [G7]the [C]sand

For every [G7]grain of sand upon the beach
I've [C]got a kiss for you
And I've got [G7]more left over
For each star that [D7]twinkles in the [G7]blue

[C]Pearly Shells …. from the ocean
Shining in the [F]sun covering the [G7]shore
When I [C]see them my heart [F]tells me that I love you
More than [C]all the [G7]little pearly [C]shells

More than [C]all the [G7]little pearly [C]shells

A WORLD OF OUR OWN

(C)Close the doors, light the (C7)light,
We're (F)staying home to(C)night.
Far a(Em)way from the (Am)bustle
And the (F)bright city (G7)lights.
Let them (C)all fade a(E7)way, just (F)leave us a(C)lone,
And we'll (Em)live in a (F)world (G7)of our (C)own.

We'll (G)build a (C)world of our (F)own,
That (G7)no-one else can (C)share.
And our (Am)sorrows we'll (D7)leave far be(G)hind us (G7)there.
And I (C)know you will (E7)find there'll (F)be peace of (C)mind
When we (Em)live in a (F)world (G7)of our (C)own.

(C)Oh my love, oh my (C7)love, I (F)cried for you so (C)much
Lonely (Em)nights without (Am)sleeping
While I (F)longed for your (G7)touch.
Now your (C)lips can er(E7)ase the (F)heartache I've (C)known
Come with (Em)me to a (F)world (G7)of our (C)own.

We'll (G)build a (C)world of our (F)own,
That (G7)no-one else can (C)share.
All our (Am)sorrows we'll (D7)leave far be(G)hind us (G7)there.
And I (C)know you will (E7)find there'll (F)be peace of (C)mind
When we (Em)live in a (F)world (G7)of our (C)own.
And I (C)know you will (E7)find there'll (F)be peace of (C)mind
When we (Em)live in a (F)world (G7)of our (C)own.

BLUE EYES CRYING IN THE RAIN

(C)In the twilight glow I see her
(G7)Blue eyes crying in the (C)rain.
(C)As we kissed goodbye and parted,
(G)I knew we'd never meet (C)again.

(F)Love is like a dying ember
(C)Where only memories (G7)remain.
(C)Through the ages I'll remember
(G)Blue eyes crying in the (C)rain.

(C)Now my hair has turned to silver
(G7)All my life I've loved in (C)vain.
(C)I can see her star in heaven
(G)Blue eyes crying in the (C)rain.

(F)Someday when we meet up yonder
(C)We'll stroll hand in hand (G7)again.
(C)In a land that knows no parting
(G)Blue eyes crying in the (C)rain.

(F)Someday when we meet up yonder
(C)We'll stroll hand in hand (G7)again.
(C)In a land that knows no parting
(G)Blue eyes crying in the (C)rain.
(G)Blue eyes crying in the (C)rain.
(G)Blue eyes crying in the (C)rain.

TEDDY BEARS PICNIC

(Am)If you go (E7)down to the (Am)woods (E7)today,
your (Am)sure of a (E7)big sur(Am)prise.
If (C)you go (G7)down to the (C)woods to(G7)day,
You'd (C)better go (G7)in dis(C)guise.
For (Dm)every bear that (G7)ever there was
will (C)gather there for (Am)certain because,
To(F)day's the (C)day the (F)teddy bears (C)have there (G7)pic(C)nic.
(Am)Every (E7)teddy bear, (Am)that's been (E7)good, is (Am)sure of a (E7)treat (Am)today.
There's (C)lots of (G7)wonderful (C)things to (G7)eat,
And (C)wonderful (G7)games to (C)play.
Ben(Dm)eath the trees, where no(G7)body sees,
They'll (C)hide and seek as (Am)long as they please.
To(F)day's the (C)day the (F)teddy bears (C)have their (G7)pic(C)nic.
Pic(C)nic time for teddy bears, the little teddy bears are
having a lovely (G7)time today.
(G7)Watch them, catch them unawares
And see them picnic on their (C)holi(G7)day.
(C)See them gaily gad about, they love to play
and shout, they never have any (F)cares.
At (F)six o'clock their (D7)moms and dads will (C)take them home to (A7)bed
Because they are (Dm)tired little (G7)teddy (C)bears.
If (Am)you go (E7)down to the (Am)woods to(E7)day,
you (Am)better not (E7)go a((Am)lone;
It's (C)lovely (G7)down in the (C)woods to(G7)day,
but (C)safer to (G7)stay at (C)home.
For (Dm)every bear that (G7)ever there was
will (C)gather there for (Am)certain because,
To(F)day's the (C)day the (F)teddy bears (C)have their (G7)pic(C)nic.

MAGGIE

(C)I wandered to(C7)day to the (F)hill, Maggie
To (C)watch the scene be(G7)low.
The (C)creek and the (C7)creaking old (F)mill, Maggie
As (C)we used to (G7)long, long (C)ago. (C7)
The (F)green grove is gone from the (C)hill, Maggie
Where (G7)first the (D7)daisies (G7)sprung
The (C)creaking old (C7)mill is (F)still, Maggie
Since (C)you and (G7)I were (C)young.

Chorus:
And (F)now we are aged and (C)grey, Maggie
And (G7)the trails of life (D7)are nearly (G7)done,
Let (C)us sing of the days (C7)that are (F)gone, Maggie
When (C)you and (G7)I were (C)young.

They say that I'm (C7)feeble with (F)age, Maggie
My (C)steps are less sprightly than (G7)then.
My (C)face is a (C7)well written (F)page, Maggie
But (C)time (G7)alone has the (C)pen.
They (F)say we are aged and (C)grey, Maggie
As (G7)sprays by the (D7)white breaker (G7)flung.
But (C)to me you're as (C7)fair as you (F)were, Maggie
When (C)you and (G7)I were (C)young.
(F)When (C)you and (G7)I were (C)young.

Chorus and repeat the last line.

BLACK VELVET BAND

(C)Well, in a neat little town they call Belfast,
Apprentice to trade I was (G)bound.
Many (C)an hours sweet (Am)happiness,
have (F)I spent in that (G)neat little (C)town
A sad misfortune came over me,
which caused me to stray from the (G)land.
Far a(C)way from my friends and rel(Am)ations,
be(F)trayed by the (G)black velvet (C)band.

Chorus:
(C)Her eyes they shone like diamonds
I thought her the queen of the (G)land,
And her (C)hair it hung over her (Am)shoulder
Tied (F)up with a (G)black velvet (C)band.

I (C)took a stroll down Broadway, meaning not long for to(G) stay
When who (C)should I meet but this fair pretty (Am)maid
comes (F)a tripping (G)along the (C)highway.
She was both fair and handsome,
Her neck was like a (G)swans,
And her (C)hair hung over her (Am)shoulder
tied (F)up with a (G)black velvet (C)band.
Chorus.
I (C)took a stroll with this fair maid,
And a gentleman passes us(G) by,
Well I (C)knew she meant the doing of (Am)him,
By the (F)look in her (G)roguish black (C)eyes.
A gold watch she took from his pocket
And placed it right into my (G)hand.
And the (C)very first thing that I said (Am)was
bad (F)luck to the (G)black velvet (C)band.
Chorus.
Be(C)fore the judge and jury, next morning I had to (G)appear
The judge(C) he says to me:
"Young man, your case it is proven (Am)clear
We'll (F)give you seven (G)years penal serv(C)itude,
To be spent faraway from the(G) land,
Far away(C) from your friends and com(Am)panions,
Be(F)trayed by the (G)black velvet (C)band.
Chorus.
So (C)come all you jolly young fellows,
A warning you take from(G) me,
when (C)you are out on the town me lads,
beware of them pretty (G)colleens,
For (C)they feed you with strong drink, "Oh (Am)yeah",
'til (F)you are (G)unable to (C)stand,
And the very next thing that you'll(Am) know,
Is (F)you've landed (G)in Van Diemans (C)Land.

Chorus; Then repeat last two lines.
