BY THE LIGHT OF THE SILVERY MOON

(C)By the light of the silvery (D7)moon, I want to (G7)spoon,
To my honey I'll (C)croon love's (G7)tune.
Honey(C)moon, keep a shining in (F)Ju(A7)u(Dm)une.
Your(A7) silv(Dm)ery (C)beams will (D7)bring love (C)dreams,

By the light, not the dark, but the light,
Of the Silvery (D7)Moon, not the sun, but the moon.
I want to (G7)spoon, not knife, but spoon.
To my honey I'll (C)croon love's (G7)tune.
Honey(C)moon, keep a shining in (F)Ju(A7)u(Dm)une.
Your (A7)sil(Dm)very (C)beams will (D7)bring love (C)dreams,

BOBBY McGEE

(C)Busted flat in Baton Rouge and heading for the trains,
Feeling nearly faded as my (G7)jeans.
Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained.
Took us all the way to New Or(C)leans.
I took my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna,
And was blowing sad while Bobby sang the (F)blues,
With them windshield wipers slapping time and (C)Bobby's hand in mine,
We (G7)finally sang up every song that driver ever (C)knew.

CHORUS:
(F)Freedom is just another word for (C)nothing left to lose,
(G7)Nothing ain't worth nothing but it's (C)free.
(F)Feeling good was easy Lord when (C)Bobby sang the blues,
(G7)Feeling good was good enough for me,
Good enough for me and Bobby(C) McGee.

(C)From the Kentucky coal mines to the California sun,
Bobby shared the secrets of my (G7)soul.
Standing right beside me, Lord, through everything I done,
Every night she kept me from the(C) cold.
Then some where near Salinas, Lord, I let her slip away,
Searching for the home I hope she'll (F)find.
And I'd trade all my tomorrows for a(C) single yesterday,
(G7)Holding Bobby's body close to (C)mine.

Chorus  Then
La de da de da de da da la de da de da,
La de da da me and Bobby (G7)McGee.
La de da de da de da da la de da de da,
La de da da me and Bobby (C) McGee.

(C)Then somewhere near Salinas, Lord, I let her slip away,

Searching for the home I hope she'll (F)find.
And I'd trade all my tomorrows for a (C)single yesterday,
(G7)Holding Bobby's body close to (C)mine.

La de da de da de da da la de da de da,
La de da da me and Bobby (G7)McGee.
La de da de da de da da la de da de da,
La de da da me and Bobby (C)McGee.

(C)Standing in the lonely light of the silver (G7)moon
With the (F)unexpected desti(G7)nation of my (C)home.

(C)See the lazy windmills slowly (G7)turning
(F)Cutting up the marble (G7)canyons of the (C)sky.
(C)See the dust around my feet go (G7)churning
(F)Moving the winds
Down the (G7)highways of good(C)byes.

Chorus
(C)Standing in the lonely light of the silver (G7)moon
(F)Looking over maps of (G7)memories for the (C)road
(C)Standing in the lonely light of the silver (G7)moon
With the (F)unexpected desti(G7)nation of my (C)home.

(C)Half the thoughts I'm thinking speak in (G7)sighs,
As that (F)same old wave of (G7)loneliness re(C)turns.
(C)And I can see you when I close my (G7)eyes
(F)Speaking very (G7)softly as you (C)turn.

Chorus twice then repeat the last line.

BLOWING IN THE WIND

(C)How many (F)roads must a (C)man walk down
Before you (F)call him a (G7)man?
(C)How many(F) seas must a (C)white dove (Am)sail
Be(C)fore she (F)sleeps in the (G7)sand?

Yes,(C) how many(F) times must the (C)cannon balls fly
Before they're (F)forever (G7)banned?
The (F)answer my (G7)friend is (C)blowin' in the(Am) wind
The (F)answer is (G7)blowin' in the (C)wind.

Yes, how many (F)years can a (C)mountain exist
Before it's (F)washed to the (G7)sea?
Yes,(C) how many (F)years can some(C) people (Am)exist
Be(C)fore they're (F)allowed to be(G7) free?

Yes, (C)how many (F)times must a (C)man turn his head
And pretend he(F) just doesn't(G7) see?
The(F) answer my (G7))friend is (C)blowin' in the(Am) wind
The (F)answer is (G7)blowin' in the(C) wind.

How many (F)times must a(C) man look up
Before he(F) can see the (G7)sky?
Yes, (C)how many (F)ears must (C)one man (Am)have
Be(C)fore he can (F)hear people (G7)cry?

Yes,(C) how many (F)deaths will it take(C) 'till he knows
That too many(F) people have(G7) died?
The (F)answer my (G7)friend is (C)blowin' in the (Am)wind
The (F)answer is (G7)blowin' in the (C)wind.

Repeat the last 2 Lines.

ISLE OF INNISFREE

(G7)I've met some(C) folk who say that I'm a(G7) dreamer
And I've no doubt there's truth in(Dm) what they (C)say.
But(G7) sure a (C)body's (C7)bound to be a(F) dreamer
When (D7)all the(G7) things he loves are far(C) away.
And(G7) precious(C) things are dreams unto an(G7) exile
They take o're the land (Dm)across the(C) sea,
Es(G7)pecially (C)when it happens he's an (F)exile
(D7)From that dear (G7)lovely Isle of Innis(C)free.
And when the (F)moonlight peeps across the (C)rooftops
Of this great (D7)city wondrous though it may (G7)be,
I scarcely (C)feel it's wonder or it's(F) laughter
I'm once (G7)again back home in Innis(C)free.

I (G7)wonder o're(C) green hill and dreamy(G7) valleys
And find a peace no other (Dm)land could (C)know,
I(G7) hear the(C) birds make(C7) music fit for (F)angels
And(D7) watch the(G7) rivers laughing as they (C)flow.
But (G7)dreams  (C)don't last though dreams are not (G7)forgotten
And soon I'm back(Dm) to stern (C)reality
But though they pave the footways here with(F) gold-dust
I still (G7)would choose my Isle of Innis(C)free.

PACK UP YOUR TROUBLES /IT'S A LONG WAY TO TIPPERARY.

(C)Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag,
And (F)smile, smile, (C)smile.
(C)While you've a lucifer to light your fag,
(D7)Smile, boys,  that's the (G7)style.
(C)What's the use of (G7)worrying?
It (F)never (C)was worth(G7)while, so
(C)Pack up you troubles in your old kit-bag, and
(C)Smile, (G7)smile, (C)smile.

IT'S A LONG WAY TO TIPPERARY.

(C)It's a long way to Tipperary,
It's a (F)long way to (C)go.
(C)It's a long way to Tipperary,
To the (D7)sweetest girl I (G7)know.
(C)Goodbye, Piccadilly,
(F)Farewell, Leicester (C)Square.
It's a (C)long long way to Tipperary,
But (C)my heart's (G7)right (C)there.
